California People Operations Manager
Job Summary
Owning the operational backbone of the People function, the full-time California People Operations Manager will manage HRIS administration, payroll, benefits, compliance, and HR process design in a remote capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary administrator for HRIS, managing configuration, workflows, and data integrity
- Lead end-to-end payroll processing and oversee benefits and leave administration across multiple entities
- Develop and maintain core People Operations workflows and ensure HR compliance throughout the employee lifecycle
Required Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of experience in People Operations or HR Operations in a multi-entity or multi-state environment
- Strong hands-on experience with HRIS, preferably Rippling, and familiarity with PEO operations
- Solid payroll operations experience with expertise in California wage and hour laws
- Hands-on experience with California leave administration, including CFRA and Workers' Compensation
- Demonstrated ability to build scalable processes, SOPs, and infrastructure from scratch
