California QC Senior Underwriter

Job Summary

Responsible for auditing various loan types, the full-time remote California QC Senior Underwriter will review credit, capacity, compliance, and collateral characteristics to ensure adherence to investor quality standards while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre-funding quality control reviews of loans and participate in remediation of identified defects
• Monitor implementation of action plans based on quality control findings and communicate defects effectively
• Analyze reports and data to identify deficiencies and opportunities for improvement, serving as a subject matter expert

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Underwriting Review, Mortgage Quality Control, or a related field
• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Advanced knowledge of residential mortgage industry and applicable regulatory compliance obligations
• Familiarity with FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, and VA guidelines and Federal regulatory procedures
• Basic knowledge of fraud detection and advanced TRID knowledge
