California Senior Finance Director

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time remote California Senior Finance Director, this role will manage the state's fundraising strategy, oversee significant donor relationships, and build the necessary infrastructure to achieve ambitious multi-cycle revenue goals.

Key responsibilities

• Own the California revenue plan by developing a comprehensive fundraising strategy and budget in collaboration with state leadership
• Manage a senior portfolio, cultivating and soliciting high-capacity donors and institutions for significant financial commitments
• Advise state and national principals on fundraising strategies, ensuring effective use of their time and political capital

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of political or advocacy fundraising experience with a proven track record of closing major gifts
• Ability to develop strategic plans and adapt them based on anticipated challenges
• Strong judgment and credibility to advise senior officials and high-capacity donors
• Fluency in data management and compliance with campaign finance rules
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
