California Senior Workers Comp Claims Specialist

Job Summary

Managing a large inventory of highly complex claims, the full-time California Senior Workers Comp Claims Specialist will evaluate compensability and liability, lead comprehensive claims investigations, and negotiate settlements while working remotely from the USA.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate compensability and liability for complex claims and manage investigations to confirm coverage
• Analyze and negotiate claim settlements and reserves within prescribed authority, including attending arbitrations and mediations
• Maintain accurate claim files and may provide coaching and performance management for staff

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 13 years of experience in property and casualty claims handling
• Completion of or progress toward a professional designation such as Associate in Claims (AIC) preferred
• Expert knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, and claims handling procedures
• Recognized as a subject matter expert with excellent analytical and negotiation skills
