Reviewing confidential clinical information, the full-time California Transfer Referral Specialist will provide personalized referrals to individuals or physicians requiring specialty services, facilitating connections to appropriate Sutter facilities and specialists in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate referrals to appropriate Sutter facilities and specialists based on clinical information
• Maintain knowledge of managed care requirements and third-party payer processes
• Assess referral requests and determine the appropriate level of care needed

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
• At least 2 years of recent relevant experience in a healthcare setting
• Working knowledge of insurance authorization processes and HIPAA requirements
• Familiarity with medical terminology and managed care systems
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information
