California Transfer Referral Specialist

Job Summary

To support clinical integration efforts, the full-time California Transfer Referral Specialist will review confidential clinical information and provide personalized referrals to individuals or physicians requiring specialty services, working remotely and facilitating connections to appropriate Sutter facilities and specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assess clinical information to facilitate referrals to appropriate specialists and services
• Maintain knowledge of managed care requirements and community resources to support referral processes
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers to ensure seamless referral experiences

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• At least 2 years of recent relevant experience in a healthcare or managed care environment
• Working knowledge of insurance authorization processes and HIPAA requirements
• Familiarity with medical terminology and disease processes
• Ability to manage confidential information discreetly and maintain effective working relationships
