Job Summary
To ensure compliance with Canadian privacy laws and best practices, the full-time Canadian Data Protection Officer will oversee data protection and privacy initiatives, provide expert advisory services, and manage incident response in a fully remote capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a privacy management program aligned with Canadian privacy legislation
- Provide expert privacy advice and lead Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs)
- Respond to privacy incidents and manage compliance with breach notification obligations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Management, Business, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in privacy, data protection, compliance, or related roles
- Strong knowledge of Canadian privacy legislation
- Experience implementing privacy management programs
