Cardio Thoracic Surgery Coding Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing team, the full-time remote Cardio Thoracic Surgery Coding Specialist will provide CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding for various specialties, ensuring accurate code assignment and compliance with guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately apply diagnosis and procedure codes utilizing ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS
• Calculate ProFee E/M levels and provide coding services for surgical procedures in the Cardiothoracic specialty
• Maintain compliance with coding standards and participate in ongoing training and education

Required qualifications

• Certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P)
• Minimum of 6 months of on-the-job coding experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Working knowledge of EMR and billing systems
• Ability to maintain a productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher
