Cardiology Coder

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time Cardiology Coder will ensure accurate and compliant coding for physician cardiology services by reviewing documentation, assigning ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes, and maintaining coding standards in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Code a variety of cardiology services, including catheterization, electrophysiology, and echocardiograms
• Review medical records to ensure diagnoses and procedures are supported by clinical documentation
• Stay current on coding guidelines and regulations while maintaining productivity and quality standards

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of recent professional fee coding experience, with a strong preference for cardiology services
• Active AHIMA or AAPC credential (CPC, CCS-P, CCS, CCA, RHIT, RHIA, COC, or related)
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding
• Ability to consistently meet a 95% quality standard while maintaining productivity expectations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
