Cardiology Physician Coder

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time remote Cardiology Physician Coder will review and accurately code all professional cardiology services, including evaluation and management, diagnostics, and procedures, ensuring compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and payer guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Review and accurately code Cardiology IR/CV Surgery and E/M cases to maximize reimbursement
• Meet daily production goals while maintaining a quality accuracy rate of 95% or higher
• Communicate with leadership on coding issues and stay current on coding guidelines

Required qualifications

• High School diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
• At least one active AHIMA or AAPC-certified credential (e.g., CCS-P, CPC) is required
• A minimum of 5 years of physician coding experience, including 3 years in Cardiology IR and Vascular
• Proficient knowledge of CPT and ICD-10-CM coding, medical terminology, and billing policies
• Experience with Microsoft Office and electronic healthcare record systems is required; remote work experience preferred
