Care Access Specialist

Job Summary

To support the Faculty Physicians Family Medicine Department, the full-time remote Care Access Specialist will manage patient registration by scheduling outpatient appointments, verifying patient information, and coordinating communication between staff and patients while ensuring excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions
• Verify and update patient information to ensure accuracy for billing and insurance processing
• Schedule new and follow-up patient appointments, manage referrals, and communicate cancellations to providers as necessary

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Three years of customer service and/or clerical experience
• Experience with patient registration processes and appointment scheduling
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, preferably Epic
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating with team members
