Job Summary
Catering Coordinator, a contract position based in San Diego, is responsible for planning and coordinating high-volume catering operations for conferences, ensuring quality service and adherence to budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate catering and banqueting orders, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders
- Develop and refine menus that prioritize quality, variety, and dietary inclusivity
- Oversee on-site catering operations, managing logistics and resolving service issues during conferences
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in high-volume catering operations or management, preferably in a hotel or convention center
- Proven ability to manage logistics, menu planning, and banquet setup
- Experience in budget management and tracking spend for catering services
- Comfortable with planning systems and spreadsheets (Google Workspace/Microsoft Office)
- A degree in a related field or food safety certification is a plus
