CCDS Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist

Job Summary

To provide high-level Clinical Documentation Integrity support across multiple markets, the full-time remote Senior Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) will manage complex cases, lead initiatives, and mentor within the CDI departments while adapting to various workflows and EHR systems.

Key responsibilities

• Manage high-complexity clinical documentation cases and serve as a subject matter expert across CDI departments
• Provide cross-coverage for staffing gaps and support new CDS onboarding and training initiatives
• Demonstrate expertise in CDI practices, coding guidelines, and collaborate with providers to ensure accurate medical record documentation

Required qualifications

• CCDS certification from the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists required
• High School diploma with 2 years of experience, or an Associate's/Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience, or 5 years of relevant job experience
• 2 years of leadership or management experience preferred
• Strong technical skills in navigating multiple EHRs and CDI software
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
