Job Summary
To support clinical documentation needs, the part-time CCDS Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist will ensure the quality and completeness of medical records while facilitating modifications through collaboration with healthcare staff in a remote capacity.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure the overall quality and completeness of medical records for all payor groups and DRG classifications
- Facilitate modifications to clinical documentation through concurrent interaction with physicians and nursing staff
- Educate the patient care team on documentation standards and practices as needed
Required qualifications
- CCDS or CDIP certification required
- Coding certification: CCS, CRC, or CIC required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Clinical Documentation Specialist in an acute care setting
- Experience with EPIC EHR and knowledge of risk adjustment coding (PSI/HAC/HCC)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent medical education required; International Medical Graduate preferred
