CCS Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

Supporting the Coding Supervisor in a fully remote capacity, the full-time Lead Coding Specialist will assist in supervising coding, abstracting, and reimbursement processes while ensuring compliance with ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines and coding conventions from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in supervising coding and reimbursement processes, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency across all facilities
• Monitor reports and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure accurate processing of coding activities
• Provide coding training within the department and perform research on coding issues as needed

Required qualifications

• Associate's degree required
• AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification is mandatory
• Preferred RHIA or RHIT certification or equivalent experience
• Minimum of five years of coding experience in Inpatient or Outpatient Surgery, Ancillary, and Emergency Room settings
• Proficiency in health information systems, database management, and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
