CCS Certified Inpatient Audit Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Audit Specialist to conduct coding audits and provide education related to coding quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inpatient coding audits on medical records using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and other coding references
• Provide coder education and prepare reports based on audit findings
• Meet with client facility representatives to discuss audit results and trends

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in coding and auditing
• Associate or Bachelor's degree from an AHIMA-certified HIM or Nursing Program, or completion of a certificate program from AAPC
• Preferred credentials include CCS, RHIT, or RHIA
• Experience in academic or level 1 trauma centers
• Track record of maintaining a 95% accuracy rate for APC assignment and a 95% productivity rate
