CCS Certified Inpatient Auditor

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the CCS Certified Inpatient Auditor will assist in developing education and coding quality improvement initiatives, analyze coding and documentation issues, and perform second-level coding quality reviews to enhance compliance and reimbursement.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze, review, and resolve coding and documentation issues related to reimbursement and compliance
• Perform focused second-level coding quality reviews to support coding specialists and document trends in coding inaccuracies
• Conduct research on policies and guidelines to aid in the development of internal coding policies and focused audit plans

Required qualifications

• Associate's degree in Health Information Management or a related field, or equivalent work experience (minimum of 4 years of HIM inpatient coding experience)
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification is required; RHIT or RHIA credentials preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of inpatient coding experience required
• 1 year of education, training, and auditing experience preferred
• Must pass AHIMA-approved inpatient Coding Specialist IV assessment prior to hire
