CCS Certified Inpatient Coding Lead

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coding Lead to oversee inpatient coding accuracy and team support.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of inpatient coding and manage daily work queues
• Serve as a liaison between coders, leadership, and clients, facilitating communication and addressing issues
• Perform hands-on coding duties while supporting team development and onboarding new coders

Required Qualifications

• Active CCS credential required (AHIMA)
• Minimum 3 years of inpatient coding experience in an academic medical center with 500+ beds
• Strong experience with ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding
• Experience supporting onboarding and mentoring of coding staff
• Experience with Elixhauser and Vizient reporting or metrics preferred
