CCUS Reservoir Engineer

Job Summary

Serving as the technical lead for reservoir engineering and subsurface modeling activities, the remote CCUS Reservoir Engineer III/Senior/Expert/Advisor will manage reservoir characterization, simulation, and optimization for carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) initiatives, focusing on Class VI and Class II projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and apply reservoir simulation models to evaluate CO injection performance and long-term containment for Class VI and Class II projects
• Support the development of Engineering Well Designs (EWDs) for CO injection and monitoring wells through integrated reservoir engineering analysis
• Analyze and interpret field test data and injection performance to calibrate reservoir models and enhance predictive capabilities

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of reservoir engineering experience with expertise in reservoir simulation and subsurface analysis
• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering field; Master's degree preferred
• Direct experience with CO storage, enhanced recovery, or gas reservoir development projects
• Strong background in reservoir modeling for Class II and/or Class VI applications
• Familiarity with the Class VI permitting process and experience in preparing Class VI permit applications
