Job Summary

A company is looking for a Documentation Quality and Appeals Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform record reviews to ensure accurate clinical documentation reflecting Severity of Illness (SOI) and Risk of Mortality (ROM)
• Understand legal and compliance issues related to clinical documentation and present findings to clinical and end users
• Participate in educational coding sessions and maintain clinical continuing education units (CEUs) as applicable

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Minimum one year experience as a CDI Reviewer in an acute care setting
• Minimum of five years of clinical experience in an acute care setting
• Working knowledge of DRGs and clinical conditions impacting quality outcomes
• Bachelor's Degree required
• CCDS or CDIP certification preferred; CCS or concurrent enrollment in an AHIMA-approved coding program within 90 days of hire
