Ceph Expert Service Engineer
Job Summary
Serving as the primary Ceph subject matter expert for assigned strategic customers, the full-time Designated Service Engineer - Ceph Expert will architect, deploy, and manage Ceph-based object storage environments while ensuring high levels of customer success and satisfaction in a remote capacity.
Key responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and operate large-scale production Ceph clusters, managing lifecycle activities and troubleshooting complex issues
- Act as the technical liaison between customers and internal teams, addressing feature gaps and ensuring timely resolution of customer issues
- Proactively monitor customer environments and contribute to knowledge sharing through documentation and best practices
Required qualifications
- 10+ years in customer-facing technical roles with a focus on enterprise infrastructure
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Ceph in production environments, including design and operations
- Strong understanding of Ceph internals and operational mechanics
- Experience with large-scale Ceph environments and troubleshooting across various technical layers
- Proficiency in Python and/or Bash for automation tasks
