Certified Actuary Senior Director

Job Summary

Leading a team of pricing and reporting analysts, the remote Certified Actuary Senior Director will manage the underwriting process, analyze claims data, and develop pricing strategies to drive profitable growth through customer retention and acquisition.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze claims data to develop cost-of-care projections for renewals and new business opportunities
• Ensure timely application of underwriting policies and provide recommendations on product and customer rates to senior management
• Evaluate the cost impact of new product initiatives and propose rate structures to maximize profitability

Required qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in underwriting, with a minimum of 5 years in underwriting management
• Thorough knowledge of the health care and health insurance industries
• Strong knowledge of underwriting principles in a managed care environment
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
• Experience with managing large data sets using tools such as MS Access
