Job Summary
To ensure accurate and timely billing processes, the part-time Certified Ambulance Billing Specialist will manage post-billing reviews, resolve claim issues, and maintain compliance with billing regulations in a fully remote capacity.
Key responsibilities
- Perform post-billing reviews to ensure claims are eligible and valid for payment
- Submit new and corrected claims through online payor portals while conducting quality assurance reviews
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies, including HIPAA privacy standards
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of EMS Billing experience preferred
- Certified Ambulance Coder (CAC) preferred
- Strong working knowledge of EMS billing rules and health insurance payor groups
- Proficient in Excel functions such as filters, pivot tables, and conditional formatting
