Job Summary
To lead a remote team of coding auditors, the full-time Certified Behavioral Health Coding Manager will oversee operational results, ensure audit quality, and drive strategic initiatives related to behavioral health coding and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides operational oversight of the outpatient behavioral health coding audit team and serves as the primary subject matter expert
- Leads development and refinement of behavioral health review guidelines, ensuring compliance with regulatory changes and payer policies
- Partners with clinical leadership and audit management to implement new clients and drive continuous improvement in audit workflows
Required Qualifications:
- Current certification as a CPC, CPC-P, RHIA, RHIT, or CCS; CPMA preferred
- Certified Behavioral Health Coding Specialist (CBHCS) or equivalent credential strongly preferred
- 5+ years of outpatient behavioral health medical coding and/or coding audit experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral health documentation requirements and DSM-5 coding application
- 4+ years of relevant management or supervisory experience in a similar business environment
