Certified Cardiac Coding Educator

Job Summary

Coordinating coding audits and education functions, the full-time Certified Cardiac Coding Educator will manage edit and denial coding work queues for inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory services while providing feedback and educational programs to the coding team in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities

• Review cases for accurate coding and monitor the assignment and sequencing of ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT codes
• Provide feedback and coding education to staff regarding code assignment completeness and accuracy
• Prepare and present educational programs related to coding while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements

Required qualifications

• 5 years of experience in physician and hospital coding, with 2 years in coding audit
• Associate's Degree in Health Information Management
• Certified Inpatient Coder, Certified Professional Coder, and Certified Coding Specialist certifications required
• Registered Health Information Technician or Registered Health Information Administrator certification preferred
• Experience in Cardiology coding is preferred
