Job Summary
Seeking a detail-oriented Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist, the full-time remote position will manage clinical documentation quality, conduct medical record reviews, and provide education to healthcare providers on documentation best practices and risk adjustment methodologies.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct proactive medical record reviews to ensure accuracy in documentation and coding
- Develop and deliver education programs for providers and clinical teams on documentation and coding best practices
- Collaborate with health plans on risk adjustment and value-based care initiatives while analyzing documentation trends for improvement opportunities
Required qualifications
- Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Certified Risk Coder (CRC) through AAPC or CDI/CCS certification through AHIMA
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Medicare and/or Medicaid Risk Adjustment
- Strong experience with ICD-10 coding and clinical documentation review
- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes
