A company is looking for a Coder II.
Key Responsibilities
- Abstracts, assigns, and sequences ICD-9-CM/CPT/HCPCS codes to diagnoses and procedures based on documentation
- Meets production and quality standards for coding procedures as per department policies
- Analyzes denied claims and collaborates with insurance follow-up and customer service departments to resolve billing disputes
Required Qualifications
- Two years of coding experience using CPT and ICD-9-CM or equivalent
- Certification as a Certified Professional Coder Apprentice (CPC-A), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CCS-P) required
- Commitment to enroll in continuing education courses to maintain certification
