Job Summary

To support anatomical pathology services, the full-time remote Certified Coder II will be responsible for the timely and accurate coding of hospital-based professional services, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately code diagnoses and procedure codes from medical record documentation for outpatient and inpatient services
• Maintain current knowledge of coding standards and regulations through continuous education and professional development
• Collaborate with team members and provide education to physicians to ensure proper documentation for coding accuracy

Required qualifications

• Active coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA
• Two years of medical coding experience in a similar environment
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Familiarity with Medicare and Teaching Physician Rules
• Experience in coding physician professional services in a teaching environment
