Job Summary
To support anatomical pathology services, the full-time remote Certified Coder II will be responsible for the timely and accurate coding of hospital-based professional services, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Accurately code diagnoses and procedure codes from medical record documentation for outpatient and inpatient services
- Maintain current knowledge of coding standards and regulations through continuous education and professional development
- Collaborate with team members and provide education to physicians to ensure proper documentation for coding accuracy
Required qualifications
- Active coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA
- Two years of medical coding experience in a similar environment
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Familiarity with Medicare and Teaching Physician Rules
- Experience in coding physician professional services in a teaching environment
