Certified Coder - Orthopedic Surgery

Job Summary

To support a remote orthopedic surgery practice, the full-time Certified Coder - Orthopedic Surgery will review medical record documentation to determine appropriate billing codes, assist physicians with documentation requirements, and prepare case reports for the billing process.

Key responsibilities

• Review documentation to identify diagnoses and procedures for coding
• Code evaluation and management to appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes
• Assist coders and educate physicians on documentation requirements

Required qualifications

• Must possess one of the following coding credentials: AHIMA (CCA, CCS, CCS-P) or AAPC (CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, CPC-H-A)
• No specific work experience required
• A diploma, certification, or degree is not required
