Certified Coder - Orthopedic Surgery

Job Summary

To support a growing orthopedic surgery practice, the full-time Certified Coder - Orthopedic Surgery will review medical record documentation to determine appropriate billing codes, assist with physician documentation requirements, and prepare case reports for the billing process in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Review documentation to identify diagnoses and procedures for accurate coding
• Code evaluations and management to appropriate CPT and ICD-9 codes
• Collaborate with physicians to resolve coding issues and secure necessary signatures

Required qualifications:

• Must possess one of the following coding credentials: AHIMA (CCA, CCS, CCS-P) or AAPC (CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, CPC-H-A)
• No specific work experience required
• A diploma, certification, or degree is not required
