Job Summary
Seeking a dedicated Coder I for a full-time remote position, responsible for accurately reviewing medical records, assigning ICD-10 and CPT codes, and supporting clinical staff on documentation standards to ensure compliance and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Abstracts data and assigns accurate ICD-10 diagnosis and CPT procedure codes in compliance with policies and regulations
- Utilizes practice management systems to manage patient demographics and services for surgical cases according to coding guidelines
- Educates and supports clinical areas on appropriate documentation and coding to achieve accurate billing
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge preferred
- Certification from the American Health Information Management Association (CCS-P) or the American Academy of Professional Coders (CPC)
- Newly obtained coding certification to three years of experience in provider coding and medical terminology
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPC Coding required
- Preferred specialty experience in Orthopaedics, Neurology, Physical Medicine, and Rehabilitation of Pain Management
