Certified Coder - Surgery

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Certified Coder (Remote/PRN) in Surgery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review medical record documentation to determine appropriate billing codes and necessary documentation
• Code evaluation and management to appropriate CPT code and diagnosis to appropriate ICD-9 code
• Meet with physicians to review documentation, resolve coding, and secure signatures

Required Qualifications:

• Must have AHIMA (CCA, CCS, or CCS-P) or AAPC (CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, CPC-H-A) coding credentials
• RHIT or RHIA certification in health information management may be recognized in lieu of a coding credential
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and related computer systems
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
