Certified Coder - Surgery

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Certified Coder (Remote) - Surgery.

Key Responsibilities

• Review medical record documentation to identify diagnoses and procedures for accurate coding
• Code evaluation and management to appropriate CPT and ICD-9 codes
• Assist coders and physicians with documentation requirements and follow up on billing processes

Required Qualifications

• Must possess one of the following coding credentials: CCA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, CPC-H-A, or a specialty-specific coding credential
• No specific work experience is required
• A diploma, certification, or degree is not required
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding is preferred
• Previous coding experience or equivalent education in a related field is preferred
