Certified Coding Advocate

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coding Advocate.

Key Responsibilities

• Abstracts clinical information from medical records and assigns appropriate ICD-10 and/or CPT-4 codes
• Works with coding databases and confirms DRG assignments
• Inputs and maintains data for state or other reporting requirements

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Typically requires an associate degree
• AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or AHIMA RHIT or CCS certification is required
• Typically requires 2+ years of related experience
• Experience with PCS and CPT coding is necessary
• Preferred experience with Altera and AllScripts on the hospital side
