Certified Coding Appeals Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Acute Coding Appeals Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate medical coding principles to perform coding appeals and address billing/coding issues
• Participate in client education to ensure coding is supported by clinical documentation and regulatory standards
• Maintain documentation and perform research to identify coding and billing requirements, making recommendations to clients

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Active Coding Certification (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CIC, CPC, COC)
• Five years of previous experience in coding
• Advanced knowledge of medical coding and billing systems
• Previous inpatient facility coding experience, including working appeals and denials
