Certified Coding Auditor

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coding Auditor to review and audit medical coding for accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular audits of coded medical records to ensure compliance with coding standards
• Identify and correct coding errors, implementing corrective action plans as necessary
• Prepare audit reports and collaborate with staff to provide training and feedback

Required Qualifications

• Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent (RHIT, RHIA, CCS, APC)
• Minimum of 3 years of medical coding experience, including inpatient and outpatient coding
• Strong knowledge of ICD, CPT, HCPCS coding systems and healthcare regulations
• Experience with electronic health records and practice management systems
• Behavioral health claim experience preferred
