Certified Coding Auditor

Job Summary

Skilled in various coding types, the full-time remote Certified Coding Auditor will perform coding quality audits, provide feedback to coders, and ensure accurate coding and classification assignment using ICD-10-CM/PCS, HCPCS, and CPT references.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine coding quality reviews on all coders, including third-party suppliers
• Collaborate with internal customers to perform coding quality reviews and provide feedback based on findings
• Abstract and validate required data elements into the coding and abstracting system while completing production coding as needed

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Five years of coding experience, with at least one year as a coding auditor
• Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or equivalent
• Exceptional knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and related guidelines
• Proficiency in using computer applications and coding software
