Certified Coding Education Specialist

Job Summary

To support the development and delivery of coding education initiatives, the full-time Coding Education Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create training materials, lead educational sessions, and manage communication strategies related to coding quality in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing strategic coding communication and education plans tailored to target audiences
• Create and manage educational materials, including presentations and training handbooks, for various groups
• Lead training sessions and provide mentoring on coding and documentation principles to physicians and staff

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist - Physician (CCS-P), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential
• Three years of experience in E/M and/or surgical coding and reimbursement activities
• Preferred clinical background and previous chart abstraction experience
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, HCPCS, and CPT coding conventions
