Certified Coding Educator

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Certified Coding Educator will research coding and documentation guidelines, develop training materials, perform audits, and provide education sessions to ensure compliance with coding standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Research and compile coding and documentation guidelines into user-friendly manuals
• Conduct education sessions on specialty-specific coding and documentation guidelines
• Track and analyze internal and external audits, reporting trends to management

Required qualifications:

• Associate degree or 3 years of experience in a medical coding/validating role
• Certification required: CCS, CPC, RHIA, or RHIT; specialty certification is a plus
• Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in outpatient coding
• High level of knowledge in ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding methodologies
• Experience with Epic is preferred
