Certified Coding Educator

Job Summary

To enhance coding education and compliance, the full-time remote Certified Coding Educator will research and update coding guidelines, develop training materials, conduct audits, and provide educational sessions for coders and providers.

Key responsibilities

• Research and compile coding and documentation guidelines into user-friendly manuals
• Prepare and conduct education sessions on specialty-specific coding and documentation guidelines
• Track and analyze internal and external audits, reporting trends and coordinating feedback sessions

Required qualifications

• Associate degree or 3 years of experience in a medical coding/validating role
• Certification required: CCS, CPC, RHIA, or RHIT; specialty certification is a plus
• Three to five years of outpatient coding experience, preferably in a large multispecialty physician group or academic medical center
• High level of knowledge in ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding methodologies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams applications
