Certified Coding Educator

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Certified Coding Educator will research coding and documentation guidelines, develop training materials, conduct audits, and provide education sessions to enhance coding practices and compliance.

Key responsibilities:

• Research and compile coding and documentation guidelines into user-friendly manuals
• Develop and publish training materials and conduct education sessions for coders and providers
• Perform audits, track metrics, and report trends to the Manager while adhering to compliance standards

Required qualifications:

• Associate degree or 3 years of experience in a medical coding/validating role
• Certification required: CCS, CPC, RHIA, or RHIT; specialty certification is a plus
• Three to five years of outpatient coding experience, preferably in a large multispecialty physician group or academic medical center
• High level of knowledge in ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding methodologies
• Technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams applications
