Job Summary
To enhance coding education and audit functions, the full-time remote Certified Coding Educator/Auditor will manage coding audits, provide feedback and training to coding staff, and ensure accurate assignment of diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with coding principles.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate coding audits and educational programs while reviewing cases for accurate coding and compliance
- Manage edit and denial coding work queues, providing feedback and training to improve coding accuracy
- Monitor coding staff progress and keep abreast of regulatory changes affecting coding practices
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in physician and hospital coding, with at least 2 years in coding audits
- Associate's Degree in Health Information Management (HIM) required
- Certification as a Certified Inpatient Coder, Certified Professional Coder, and Certified Coding Specialist is required
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT/HCPCS coding principles and guidelines
- Experience in auditing, coding, and reimbursement training is essential
