Certified Coding Liaison

Job Summary

Supporting Neonatology and Pediatric Subspecialties, the full-time Certified Coding Liaison will deliver coding education, lead training for physicians, and provide documentation feedback while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver proactive coding education through newsletters, presentations, and scorecards covering various coding guidelines and payer requirements
• Lead onboarding and compliance training for employed physicians and APPs, ensuring accurate documentation practices from the outset
• Serve as the primary contact for coding inquiries, coordinating with internal teams to resolve complex coding issues and monitor charge submissions

Required qualifications

• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Coding Specialist (CCS), Coding Specialist - Physician (CCS-P), or Professional Coder (CPC) certification required
• Completion of advanced training through a recognized or accredited program equivalent to post-secondary education
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in expert-level professional coding
• In-depth knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology for precise code assignment
