Job Summary
Serving as a key resource for coding and documentation education, the full-time remote Certified Coding Liaison will deliver proactive education, lead onboarding and compliance training, and provide individualized feedback to enhance documentation accuracy and charge capture for employed Physicians and Advanced Practice Professionals in the Primary Care Southeast region.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver proactive coding education through newsletters, scorecards, and presentations on coding guidelines and payer requirements
- Lead onboarding and compliance training for all employed Physicians and APPs, ensuring documentation accuracy from the start
- Act as the primary contact for coding inquiries, coordinating with internal teams to resolve complex coding issues and monitor Epic work queues for timely charge submissions
Required qualifications
- Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Coding Specialist (CCS), Coding Specialist - Physician (CCS-P), or Professional Coder (CPC)
- Completion of advanced training through a recognized or accredited program equivalent to post-secondary education
- Typically requires 4 years of experience in expert-level professional coding
- Strong understanding of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines
- Advanced knowledge of Epic and reporting tools for data analysis and workflow optimization
