Job Summary
To support a growing pulmonology practice, the full-time Certified Coding Liaison - Pulmonology will deliver proactive coding education, lead compliance training for clinicians, and provide individualized documentation feedback while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver proactive coding education through newsletters, scorecards, and presentations on coding guidelines and payer requirements
- Lead onboarding and compliance training for employed Physicians/APPs to ensure accurate documentation from the start
- Serve as the primary contact for coding inquiries, coordinating with internal teams to resolve complex coding issues
Required qualifications
- Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Coding Specialist (CCS), Coding Specialist - Physician (CCS-P), or Professional Coder (CPC)
- Completion of advanced training through a recognized or accredited program equivalent to post-secondary education
- Typically requires 4 years of experience in expert-level professional coding
- In-depth knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
