Certified Coding Quality Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure coding accuracy and compliance, the full-time HIM Coding Quality Specialist will review coded medical records, perform audits, and provide training to coding staff, with the flexibility to work remotely or from the Bala Cynwyd, PA location.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct audits with 98% accuracy on various coding areas and communicate discrepancies to management
• Participate in the development of coding policies and provide training to new and existing staff on these policies
• Respond to inquiries regarding coding information and collaborate with internal and external departments on coding quality issues

Required qualifications:

• CCS or CPC certification is required; RHIA or RHIT is preferred
• Associate's degree is required
• 4+ years of inpatient coding experience at a tertiary care facility, preferably in an academic medical center
