Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coding Specialist to manage CPT and ICD-10 coding while ensuring accuracy and maximizing reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign and sequence ICD-10 and CPT codes accurately, including all applicable modifiers
• Contact clients regarding inadequate or unclear documentation for coding purposes
• Monitor regulatory and payer changes related to diagnostic and procedure coding

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-3 years of experience in medical coding and auditing, and/or customer service
• Nationally recognized coding credential (e.g., CPC, COC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, or RHIT)
• 1-3+ years of experience in outpatient physician and/or multi-specialty coding
• Understanding of CPT, HCPCS, CDT, and ICD-10 codes and medical terminology
