Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Physician Services Coding Specialist II.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-9, CPT-4 & HCPC codes from documentation and apply appropriate modifiers
• Support the denial process and problem-solve claim edits as needed
• Maintain coding quality accuracy and uphold productivity standards set by leadership

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• High School Diploma/GED required; vocational or technical education beyond high school preferred
• Minimum of 3 years coding experience in a relevant specialty
• AHIMA Credentials or AAPC certification required; AAPC Specialty certifications preferred
• Knowledge of third-party reimbursement regulations and billing practices
• Moderate knowledge of CCI edits and LCDs applicable to coding situations
