Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a PB Diagnostic Coder (Coding Specialist III).

Key Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and apply correct coding and modifiers to complex specialty surgical procedures and highly specialized services
• Ensure compliance with Medicare/Medicaid billing regulations and maintain performance standards for accurate and timely submission of charges
• Provide technical expertise regarding third-party payer and reimbursement issues, and orient peer coders or new hires

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 4 years of professional or hospital coding experience in ICD-10-CM or CPT
• Certification from AAPC or AHIMA, such as CPC, CCS, RHIA, or RHIT
• Active AHIMA membership may be required for some positions
• Experience using EMR systems, preferably EPIC
