Certified Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coder, Provider Practice-Primary Care.

Key Responsibilities

• Review medical documentation and assign appropriate codes (ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT)
• Serve as a resource for providers regarding documentation and coding compliance
• Monitor and validate physician charge capture and support appeals management

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Health Information Technology or Certification in Coding required
• Knowledge of diagnostic and procedural terminology
• Successful coursework in ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding schemes preferred
• Required certifications include RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CPC-A, CCS, CCS-P, CCS-H, or COC
• Certification must be obtained within one year of hire if not certified at hire
